Memberships & Associations

While the Internet industry is in its infancy, basic principles of business and ethics still hold true.  Internet industry associations have become established in recent years to focus on professional standards and provide opportunities for industry professionals to develop, network and share insights.

We support professional industry associations as a way to evolve the industry and raise standards.  We also support broader business and community service associations as a means to improve, optimise and engage.

  AIMIA

  Founded in 1992, the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association is the peak industry body for interactive content and digital media in Australia.  AIMIA's membership represents the full spectrum of the digital media industry in Australia.

  AWIA

  The Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA) was formed in 2004 (as Port 80 Inc, originally established as a social network for Web professionals in 2002).  It is a not-for-profit association that aims to:

  • Further the advancement of the Web industry within Australia
  • Educate the general public about the role of professionals in the Web industry
  • Foster greater ties with like-minded organisations.

  APRA/AMCOS

  The Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) collects and distributes licence fees for the public performance and communication of our members' musical works.  The Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS) collects and distributes mechanical royalties for the reproduction of our members' musical works.

  Social Media Club, Sydney

  If you get it, share it.  Social Media Club brings together journalists, publishers, communications professionals, artists, amateur media creators, citizen journalists, teachers, students, tool-makers and other interested collaborators.  Essentially, the people who create and consume media who have an interest in seeing the digital media industry evolve for everyone’s benefit.

  The Rotary Club of Ryde was formed just after World War II by the Rotary Club of Burwood and received its Charter from Rotary International on 22 April 1946.  In the 64+ years since, the Club has undertaken a wide range of projects in the areas of community, vocation, youth and international understanding.
