Stefan Sojka believes local businesses cannot survive without the internet.
"The internet is where everybody goes to find people now, and we make sure our businesses get found," Mr Sojka said. "And when they get found they get noticed.
Mr Sojka will be speaking at a free home-based business seminar presented by Ryde Council on May 23.
This seminar will allow people who are interested in home-based businesses to network with other business owners and learn how to grow and improve their business.
Mr Sojka is a partner of Cyrius Media Group, a local multimedia business supporting other businesses to increase sales online.
Cyrius helps other home-based businesses to market themselves and to create and manage their websites.
Also speaking is Pamela Jones, the director of the Environmental Type, a company educating small businesses to operate while caring for the environment, for example using only recycled paper.
"The Digital Age Hits Home and Sustainable Home Business" seminar will take place at the North Ryde RSL Community Club from 9.30am to 11am.
