Now, the world really is a stage.

Satellites peer down upon us, as we peer into the screens onto which their images beam.

Every action we take online adds to the story the earth is writing.

The next chapter?

Do you have a project in mind?

Review: If you are a warmonger, you have the billions of dollars of governments, corporations and criminals behind you. Us poor peace activists have to rely on donations from an over-mortgaged public. Even so, the power of peace as a dream lives on through grass-roots sites like this. Impressively large content -constantly updated news sources, insightful columnists, forums, front line horror stories, charity appeals - the tide is turning, albeit a few thousand years and a few billion lives too late. - SS

Review: Mutually Assured Destruction is a pretty mad concept, but very real, when madmen are at the helm of civilization. It's time to wage peace, not war. Now more than ever, new ways of thinking are needed to pull us out of the vortex of the country-eat-country dogma. Here, the visionaries get out and preach the word of peace to all who will listen through speakers bureaus, radio, events and of course, right here. This is the just war we should all be waging the fight for peace. - SS

Review: It seems amazing that anyone can condone violence, but even our own PM thinks it can be a cool thing now and then to 'send the right message' to certain individuals. Nonviolence.org points out the complexities behind the reasons for war, and in doing so highlights the stupidity of military action and the multiplicity of alternative solutions. Sadly the problems seem systemic, so the solutions require political and economic epiphany - something your average politician is unlikely to have in their lifetime. Check the site, be aware and ring their alarms! - SS

Review: The war on drugs has been waged for quite some time now, with the net effect of creating billionaires out of criminals, funding wars from Serbia to South America and increasing the overall usage of drugs in society. Common sense is written all over this website and the links within, with tales of injustice, greed, power and hypocrisy unrivalled in human history. Check it out, wake up and join the widening ranks of reformists who see the drug war for what it really is - a mechanism to oppress the poor and enrich the underworld. - SS

Review: This is a pretty big archive of major anti-war stuff. If you were a neo-conservative you'd probably call this site a commie tree-hugging drug crazed destroyer of civilization as we know it - and you'd be right. Some very big names in the peace movement are featured in essays, articles, books and videos (for sale). Endless links to external sites plug you straight in to the anti-mayhem movement and add impetus to the hope that refraining from killing and torturing one another is an achievable goal. The spirit is well and truly alive. - SS

Review: These guys have been there big time and the emotion with which they advocate peace and denounce imperialist warmongering is about as strong as you would expect. The lads were sent to the front line, and returned as outcasts by those they fought and died for. Powerful arguments abound in rants, critiques and revelations as to what war is really all about. Scary stuff only a veteran would have the courage to declare. Thanks to the Internet, mainstream media's silence is becoming less and less of a problem. - SS

Review: While the superpowers talk of war, make war and steal TV airtime, it is easy to forget that there are other countries and forces at work, silently digging away at the problems of our world. Sweden hosts this research institute, looking at alternative methods of conflict resolution, arms control and international issues. Through Yearbooks, CDRoms, Reports and other publications, SIPRI is adding to our enlightenment and moving us out of the dark ages into a world of safe cars, smorgasbords designer furniture and porn - yippee! - SS

Review: A great site to visit if you are serious about getting involved in the peace movement. It's one thing to sit here writing reviews and ranting, another to stand in front of a tank or a row of thug policemen and declare your disgust at the state of affairs. This site informs you of rallies and protests through newsletters and event calendars and arms you with tools - facts, flyers, chants, songs, bumper stickers and the latest news. Power to the people! Peace out! - SS

Review: The anti-war movement is part of a larger movement of justice, environmentalism, sustainable living, economic equity and social welfare. AlterNet brings these all together and shows the interconnectedness of all of the above - wars destroy environments, poverty breeds violence etc. An amazing collection of enlightened materials, links and information that is sure to stir the conscience of the most ardent industrial-military complex devotee or underworld arms dealer. - SS

Review: The local peace movement has a bigger voice thanks to this comprehensive site. Information, discussion and call to action contribute to helping us all feel that little less powerless against the 'powers that be'. Vigils, town meetings, petitions, stickers and toolkits are all provided to help you even the scales of justice back from favouring the super rich with their vested interests and lawyers, to the humble general public and the creatures and plants with which we cohabit this little spinning rock. Victory is looming! - SS
