Review: As the history of computers and gaming gets longer and longer, the ranks of nostalgia freaks swell. Each passing year sees a swathe of games that one day will be remembered dearly by their ageing exponents as classic gaming fun. Retro Remakes brings them altogher to recreate their magic momets with home made replicas of the games of old. There is a large and growing collection, all available in a java tree menu, linking to the sites of the creators. The enthusiasm is rife and the competition to remake the remaining games in all their clunky authenticity is fast and furious. History in the remaking. - SS

Review: Over one miilion vistors have been drawn to this site - a testament to how popular these old games are. These guys cover a range of platforms - Atari (5200, 7800, Jaguar and Lynx), A few Segas and a handful of others I've never heard of (but then, I went out and got myself a life some time back in the 80s!). Basically you just select your system and begin browsing the games. They are all available as downloadable Roms, so you can begin regressing to your childhood immediately. A few theme tunes and wallpapers and your regression is complete! - SS

Review: Part of the massive GameSpy network, Classic Gaming is dedicated to all things retro. They support game emulation in a big way, offering hosting for developers, opportunities for promotion and by attempting to build the most comprehensive resource on the web. Being part of a larger entity enables all the benefits of ad revenue, forum maintenance and the undivided attention of paid staffers. Bookmark this one, it's well worth returning to, if you ever get a hankerin' for the good old days. - SS

Review: This UK based site looks like it was designed and built around the time Pong was in preproduction. It is basically a large collection of links to all things retro that are up for sale. Consoles, games, LED watches, hand-held devices and more. It is a rag-tag collection but you may well find the gem you've been yearning for since you tossed yours out all those years ago during a spring clean. It looks like the site's owner is in the middle of creating a brand new shopping system and catalogue, but somehow this dodgy old site seems far more suitable. - SS
